I grew up on our small family ranch in southwest Nebraska just outside the town of Palisade where we raised cattle and hay. My real enjoyment with having cattle was being able to work them with horses. I have always been a fan of horses and enjoy any job that you can do horseback. I graduated from Wauneta-Palisade high school where I was involved in about every sport and organization that was offered. My dad Jon was also an AGR, and is now the business manager at the Nebraska Work Ethic Camp near McCook. My mom Patty works at the Credit Union in Palisade, and they both stay quite busy keeping up with myself, my older sister, and my two younger brothers. If you want to know more feel free to stop by the house for a chat.
Bear Mtn Angus is a seedstock operation that has recently relocated themselves to Palisade. This opened up the opportunity for me to help them build a new sale barn and coordinating corrals as well as a new calving barn last summer. I also was able to return home to help them with their sale this fall, and helped them with work for the Denver Stock Show while I was home over Christmas break. I plan to return home and work for them again this summer.
